Selected Letters

  1. Exposition
    1. Sorina is upset, feeling that Codrin#Castor is struggling with her leaving, and thus her exes being upset with her
    2. Codrin is kinda struggling, but is also sort of baffled as to why she went quiet so soon
    3. Ioan is starting to meet with True Name regularly, talking about therapy w/ Odists; concerned for Sorina/Codrin#Castor, urges them to talk to each other
    4. Codrin#Pollux sends brief note that partner has left (temporarily?); another that Serene has joined so there are still three at the house
  2. Development
    1. Ioan also summarizes events of Mitzvot (mostly mentioning the work ey wrote sent along with them), inquires after TN from both LVs (both decline to respond, but in exactly the same way, showing they were probably in on it, shown in footnote), mentions getting closer with Sasha
    2. Codrin#Pollux talks about life with two foxes and w/o partner, moving from moping to joy to normalcy, brings back grief vs longing
    3. Codrin and Sorina talk to each other, copying the rest of the clade
  3. Recapitulation
    1. Sorina is calming down, at least! They've got it mostly worked out, though she's setting a boundary in terms of communication between herself and the 'cule, settling back into comfortable single life as Ioan had before encountering Odists
    2. Codrin#Pollux and Dear's partner decides to move on without them over several weeks of discussion, and it's all fairly positive; ey writes this to Ioan only, though, with a separate note from each to their counterparts Castor, talking about how immortality changes ones view on letting go of relationships
    3. Ioan and Sasha enter some sort of vague relationship whenever Sasha drifts in and out of eir life (always forking as Aurel/Aurică/a, so that Sasha and May can own their own devotion). Talks about the struggles of making it work the first time, how May's devotion and eir confusion play into it, Sasha struggling with May's need for contact and love conflicting with EW's need for distance and solitude

Exocortex#99732a6: Selected correspondences of the Bălan clade systime 222--232

Note: With the events of the last ten years, there's been a lot changes shaking out in the clade when it comes to relationships. Collecting all of these here so that I can keep them handy for when things doubtless need further shaking out in the future. For the sake of comfortable through-reading, all eyes-only metadata has been stripped, but trust that everything was eyes-only to the named recipients. I've kept the timestamps as the message-sent time in the metadata. It's been thirty years and I'm still struggling with transmission delays.

Summary of Mitzvot, asking after TN, note that replies from other TNs were identical, proving they're in on it w/ Jonas, PS thoughts on whether or not Ioan and Michelle would have wound up together, b/c Sasha, parallel + intermittent monogamy, gender w/ nicknames, musing on clades + how they might have actually fared prior to uploading (e.g: would that disagreement b/w In Dreams+Hammered Silver w/ them manifest as fights or something?)

    3. Sorina → Ioan: wonders about seeking out new partner to feel fulfilled before getting in touch with exes, never dated before, so what now? (sent before receiving Aurel's letter)

  3. Recapitulation
    1. Sorina → clade: apology to Codrin, short, but promises more
    2. Codrin#Pollux → Ioan + May: talking w/ partner re them moving on
    3. Codrin#Castor → clade: to Sorina on moving on, tell us about yourself (nevermind Artemis, just you)
    4. Ioan → Codrin#Pollux: May on immortality vs. relationships.
    5. Sorina → clade: finding her way back into being comfortably solitary
    6. Codrin#Pollux → clade: moving on w/o partner, w/ Serene, attached video message showing A/V working between systems, just a huge delay.
    7. Aurel and Ioan → clade: updates re: the clade fading to comfortable obscurity (doubtless TN's stanza is still active, perhaps others strive, but just folk now), Sasha back to striped skunk now that TN's relevance is fading, Aurel in and out of existence, passes on Sasha's work, incl redacted version for Dear. Rareș died phys-side, became writer, one book dedicated 'To Ioan'.
